Even with established teams, it’s important to get people into the holiday mood and encourage creativity and collaboration.
Assign people into pairs or triads and each pair/triad needs to write one pair of rhyme for the music of a popular song. In this holiday-themed version, we'll ask participants to create a version of Jingle bells.
Whatever the occasion or song, it's a nice twist if they incorporate something in the lyrics that is related to your own company and culture.
Director calls out a scene location (ie. movie theater) and everyone assumes a non-human item in the scene (ie. wad of bubble gum on the floor)
One person holds up an object to the camera
The rest of the group is given 8 seconds to find a matching object
The first person decides what is the best match
Remembered objects are used to 'port' between memories
One person sculpts 2 people in relationship. Sculpted people shift their relationship to each other.
One by one individuals add details to a scene.
Variation: 2 players sculpt details as the group creates the scene
Scene: Players add before/during the scene
People will do a remake of a Shakespearean scene except they will improvise it a little and change the words with something funnier.
Das Team bekommt den Auftrag einen Slogan, ein Credo bzw. einen Schlachtruf für den Tag zu schreiben. Dabei dürfen sie nur die Buchstaben ihrer eigenen Vornamen benutzen.
The game develops imagination, trust and helps to relax.
As for physical skills, participants develop strength and fine motor skills.
Facilitate a team conversation about personal strengths:
Ask participants to pick from a set of strength card, e.g. one strength each for everyone in the group (or more for small groups)
People take turns to “give” a strength to another team member, share how/when they have seen the strength in the other person and say thank you
Everyone will end up with a set of strengths provided by other team members and feel belonging and appreciation
This meeting starter is great because it lets people self-define, gives them a “personality” outside the typical work environment. Additionally,it gives participants quick snapshots of multiple players (since they see many cards as they’re being passed around), and it creates memorable visuals that give people conversation pieces as the meeting progresses.
