I Love You Honey...

A simple and short group game all about trying to make each other crack a smile. Participants take turns in the middle, trying to convince another participant to smile using only the like “I love you honey, won’t you give me a smile?” The game generates laughter and helps groups build trust and openness through play.

Back to Back

This is an energetic improv game that can be used anytime during a training session. My favourite time to use it is at the end of a session for debriefing. Participants pair up and stand back-to-back. The facilitator asks a question. The participants turn around and face each other and take turns sharing their responses.

Go!

This exercise creates an opportunity to talk about team accountability and communication and paying attention to what's not happening (as opposed to what is happening) by having the group move fluidly as one person leaves a place and another enters their spot.

Song Battle

Most people have a repertoire of song lyrics in their head. This activity offers the fun of recalling them, the opportunity to belt them out without anxiety about singing "well", and the aspect of learning which songs "everyone" in the group knows and which are familiar to only you.

Three wishes

The activity serves as a brief energiser during a workshop, and helps to get creativity flowing. At the end of this method, each team member will be a little more familiar with each other.

Sort Yourself Up

Something fun to bring people away from their seat, get on their feet and knowing more about each other.
