    Before

    Setting: flipcharts, markers, etc.

    Number of participants: 11-25

    Types of participants: any

    Time needed: 1 - 3 hours

    Pre-Work Required: none

    Type of Facilitator-Client Relationship: standard


    During

    State the topic. Put on whiteboard or flipchart.

    1. Brainstorm the positive aspects of the topic. List on flipchart.

    2. Brainstorm the negative aspects of the topic. List on flipchart.

    3. Brainstorm the interesting aspects of the topic. List on flipchart.

    4. Go to processing the lists.


    Notes
    This can be done using the following:
    a. Positive (What strikes you as positive about this idea?),
    b. Concerns (What concerns you about this idea?),
    c. Interesting (What is interesting about this idea).

    After

    Follow-Up Required: Processing the lists

    Usual or Expected Outcomes: list of positive, negative and interesting ideas.
