Experiential Online Session Template

This template holds the fundamentals to planning any experiential facilitation workshop from A-Z.
It integrates the work of David Kolb´s Experiential Learning Theory and Chad Littlefield´s 5 Ingredients to make virtual engagement easy.
As a Learning Experience Designer, Facilitator, and Experiential Learning Trainer this approach has been the foundation of my work to design and deliver impactful, engaging, and experiential workshops.
I have also included variety of different options for each section which you can plug and play, discard, or save for later in the parking lot. Enjoy it!
As you go through each section of the template, choose your preferred activity and delete the rest. Once you're done, you'll have a 90-180 minute session ready to go!

Instructions
Here’s how to use this template to create a seamless agenda design:
- Browse through the template: There is a lot of great information in this template that will help you understand the what and also the why. Take a little time to browse through each section and see how it fits together.
- Duplicate the template: When you're ready to start designing, duplicate the template so you can start tailoring the session to your needs.
- Pick and choose activities: Scan through the activities in each section and select those that align with your goals, audience, training topic, and your own approach to learning.
- Curate your agenda flow: Once you’ve chosen your activities, delete what you don’t need or add it to your parking lot for later. Drag and drop additional activities into place and ensure your learning flow is fit for purpose.
- Customize your instructions: Tailor the instructions of each activity to suit your specific session and its topic.
- Review time durations: Double-check the time allocations for each phase and activity. You want to ensure there’s enough room for participants to engage deeply without feeling rushed. When in doubt: be a time pessimist instead of a time optimist! Your future self will thank you.
- Check for flow and engagement: Make sure your agenda flow creates a seamless experience that will help meet the goal for your session.
- Deliver your experiences with confidence! By following these steps and using the curated activities in this template, you’ll create a workshop that delivers learning through maximized experience, connection and collaboration!
