Seeing the situation from wider perspective
Participants should close their eyes and be totally silent for at least 5 minutes. Afterwards, they should be instructed to imagine being in the position of the lamp on the roof or sitting on a high shelf in the room. Another possiblity would be to simply take a bird's eye view. Then, the participants should look down at the situation and think of what they did the last hour in that room. It is quite important not to get emotionally involved into the situation. The goal is to perceive the situation from a more objective point of view. This often opens a totally different point of view and often leads to a new insight into the problem. Having this more flexible sight, solutions for a problem are more likely to be found since it widens creative thinking.
