Each person should think individually for 1-2 minutes about behaviors they believe should be included in the Team Agreement.
Setting the Session Goal:
Clarify that the goal is not to complete a full Team Agreement today but to establish a preliminary foundation. Extended discussions should be avoided.
Explanation of the Voting Mechanism:
Announce that each suggestion will only require a quick response using a thumbs up (agree), thumbs down (disagree), or thumbs sideways (questions or counterproposal).
Collecting Proposals:
Ask who has a suggestion.
The individual reads their suggestion aloud, and others give their thumb response.
Handling Feedback:
For sideways thumbs or thumbs down, inquire to provide space for concerns or counterproposals.
If a discussion takes too long, park the point and invite those involved to develop a joint proposal by the next session.
Integration into Regular Meetings:
Use the Team Agreement in regular meetings like check-ins to prompt reflections, e.g., which points of the agreement should be emphasized or have been well implemented.
Deeper Reflection in Workshops:
Reserve time slots in team workshops like retrospectives to deeply reflect on and potentially supplement the Team Agreement.
