SessionLab 2025 recap

2025 was a big year for SessionLab. We focused on one core shift: bringing your entire session design workflow – from brief to follow-up – into one connected workspace.
With Pages, Forms and the context-aware AI assistant, you now have the tools to centralize your process and streamline your complete design process. No more jumping between docs, spreadsheets, and different tools.
This post recaps the most impactful product updates we shipped in 2025, along with a few practical tips to help you get more value from them in 2026. Let's dive in!
1️⃣ Pages: your session brief and report, right next to the agenda
Pages introduced a dedicated space inside each session for briefs, notes, logistics, outcomes, and follow-ups. Your planning context now lives alongside your agenda. No more switching between docs and tools while working on your session.

Since launch, we’ve added:
- 🤖 Ask AI on Pages to turn a brief into an agenda draft, extract action items, or draft follow-up emails
- 🧱 Toggles and tables to keep longer documents organized and readable
- 📄 PDF export to share clean, professional briefs and reports with clients or participants
💡 Tip: Start every session with a single “brief” Page that captures goals, constraints, and success criteria. It makes later design decisions much easier to explain and revisit.
2️⃣ Forms: collect feedback and input without leaving SessionLab
Forms complete the session lifecycle by letting you gather participant and stakeholder input in the same place as your agenda. Use built-in templates for feedback, retrospectives, or check-ins, or tailor forms to your own format.

Since launch, we’ve added:
- 📊 AI to summarize responses, spot themes, and suggest follow-up actions
- 📁 CSV export – take responses into spreadsheets or reporting tools for deeper analysis
- 🔗 Easy sharing via link or QR code so you can review responses without switching tools
💡 Tip: Consistency matters more than complexity. Even a short feedback form used after every session can dramatically improve your next design.
3️⃣ AI that connects your entire workflow
Because your brief, agenda, and feedback live in one session, AI can work across them, turning your brief into an agenda draft, using your agenda to generate a feedback form, or extracting action items from your notes.
Auto-fill Page templates. Creating a client report or post-session summary? Select a Page template, click “Create and fill with AI,” and it will draft the content based on your session data.

💡 Tip: Start your next session by writing your client brief on a Page, then use “Ask AI” to turn it into a draft agenda. You’ll have a working structure in minutes instead of starting from scratch.
4️⃣ AI tailored to your facilitation approach
The AI Assistant now suggests relevant activities using context from your session and the SessionLab Library. It can also answer questions about using SessionLab, drawing on our Help Center to explain features and best practices as you work.
Tailor every suggestion. Custom AI Guidelines let you set your preferred frameworks once (Design Thinking, Liberating Structures, etc.) in workspace settings, and every AI suggestion will be tailored to your approach-no need to reconfigure it every time.
Coming soon: AI that learns from your past sessions. We’re working on letting you choose whether the AI Assistant can search your workspace to find and apply patterns from sessions you’ve already run. If you enable it, you’ll be able to ask it to “use the structure from last week’s strategy session” or “find my retrospective template from Q3,” pulling from your own work—not just generic suggestions.
💡 Tip: Spend five minutes setting up your Custom AI Guidelines once. Every suggestion after that will match your facilitation style and frameworks automatically.

5️⃣ Import drafts and agendas in seconds
You can now upload existing agendas directly into SessionLab – from PDFs, Word files, slides, spreadsheets, images, and more – and instantly turn them into editable sessions.
💡 Tip: Have a trusted agenda template in Word or PDF? Import it once, refine it in SessionLab, then save it as a reusable template.

6️⃣ Reusable templates for Pages and Forms
Save any Page or Form as a custom template and reuse it across all your sessions. This is especially valuable for teams who need to maintain consistent processes, ensuring every facilitator collects feedback the same way, follows the same needs assessment format, or documents outcomes in a standardised way.
💡 Tip: Build templates for your core workflows: client intake forms, standard feedback surveys, and session reports. Your entire team benefits from the consistency, and you can track patterns and improvements across all sessions.

7️⃣ Security & data protection: enterprise-ready foundations
In 2025, we made major investments in strengthening SessionLab’s security and internal practices.
We’ve been aligning our systems, processes, and team operations with recognised enterprise security standards, covering areas like data access, infrastructure security, incident handling, and internal controls.
This work is part of our preparation for our first formal IT security certification, which we expect to complete soon, making SessionLab easier to use in corporate, regulated, or security-sensitive environments.

8️⃣ Self-serve SSO for Business plan users
Teams on the Business plan can now set up Single Sign-On (SSO) directly from their account settings. This allows your organisation to manage access to SessionLab through your existing identity provider, aligning with common IT security and access control requirements.
The Business plan is designed for teams managing facilitation work at scale. Alongside SSO, it includes features like multiple workspaces (for different teams within your company) and organisation-wide templates to standardise ways of working.
🪢 How it all comes together
These updates reduce tool-switching and keep everything connected:
Capture your brief on a Page → turn it into a draft agenda with AI → collaborate in the session planner → collect feedback with a Form → use AI to summarise responses → document outcomes on the same Page.
Everything related to a session stays in one place-easier to prepare, collaborate, follow up, and reuse what works.

One simple habit to take into 2026
After your next session:
- Collect feedback with a Form (even just 2-3 questions works great!)
- Ask AI to summarize responses
- Capture outcomes and next steps on a Page
- Save the setup as a template if you’ll run it again
That loop is where facilitation quality compounds over time.
