Together we’ll go from “what do facilitators actually do?” all the way to designing and running your own sessions with confidence.

Whatever brought you here — curiosity, a new role, or simply one too many painful meetings — you’re welcome, and this is for you.

Who is the Facilitation is for Everyone course for?

Think of the last meeting you left frustrated. The one that went in circles, or where the same two voices did all the talking, or that could have been an email. You’ve been in that room. You’ve probably also glimpsed the opposite: a session where things clicked, people built on each other, and something real got decided. You know the difference is possible. You’re just not sure how to make it happen on purpose.

That “on purpose” is facilitation, and it isn’t a fixed talent some people are born with. It’s a practice you build over a lifetime — and you’re likely already doing pieces of it without noticing. The colleague who draws the quiet person out, the friend who keeps the group on track: those are facilitation skills in the wild.

Facilitation is useful at every scale, from a 30-minute team check-in to a multi-day retreat. Wherever you’re starting from, this course gives you the fundamentals, the tools, and the nudge to try them out for real.

This course is especially great for:

  • People curious about making facilitation a career
  • Professionals looking to add facilitation to their existing role
  • Team leads and managers who want to lead more like a facilitator
  • Trainers, teachers, and L&D folks early in their journey
  • Anyone whose meetings have been painful lately

What's inside the Facilitation is for Everyone course?

Your guide for the series is Deborah Rim Moiso — a facilitator, an IAF Endorsed Facilitator, and a teacher of group dynamics. One week she’s designing a strategy retreat, the next she’s running a co-creation workshop, then she’s back with her students. She’ll bring that range, and a lot of hard-won practical wisdom, to your inbox.

Over five weeks, you’ll explore:

  • Setting the stage — Begin your journey by exploring who facilitators are, what they do, and where facilitation already shows up in your life.
  • Spice up your sessions — Lift your meetings, events, and training with a toolkit of activities you can borrow straight away.
  • The skilled facilitator — Get to grips with the core skills: holding a facilitative stance, asking questions worth answering, and listening for what’s unsaid.
  • What happens when we meet? — Learn to read and gently steer group dynamics, from setting the culture of a room to working with the stages every group moves through.
  • How to design successful sessions — Bring it together by structuring a session that flows, balancing your careful plan with room for the unexpected.

Every email comes with three things to help it all stick: a Take Action! challenge to try in a real room, a Facilitation Log to reflect and track how you’re growing, and a Keep on Learning roundup of favorite books, talks, and podcasts. Work through the activities and you’ll earn a certificate to show you’ve completed the series — and, more to the point, you’ll have run your first sessions.

As the World Café community likes to say, all change begins with a conversation. This one starts in your inbox.
