Encourage creative thinking and getting to know each other better with a short round of 'time travel' questions to each of your participants.

Goal

Get the creative juices flowing and encourage group discussion through this short, simple exercise.

Instructions

Encourage the group to flex their creative minds and ask one of all of the following questions, to one participant at a time: "If you were able to travel through time, either forward or backward... :

  • Where would you go?
  • If backward, to which time period would you choose? Why?
  • If there was a person you could go back in time & meet, who would it be, and why?
  • Would you just want to visit and come back, or would you stay?"

For larger group sizes, it may be best to divide the audience into smaller sub-groups of 3-4 people.

If you're running this session remotely, you can pose the question to the participants over webcam, and ask them to respond over the video conference software, or to discuss their responses within smaller remote breakout teams.

Optional tip: if you (or someone else in the group has good graphic recording skills, then it's a fun summary to record the answers visually and have a history gallery.
