Networking Wheel
Goal
This activity focuses on developing learners’ skills to articulate their strengths, interests, and experiences confidently, fostering effective communication in networking and job interviews. Through self-reflection and guided prompts, learners will explore various aspects of their personal and professional identity.
Materials
Instructions
Introduction
Explain to participants that the purpose of the activity is to help them be able to speak about themselves confidently when networking or in a job interview.
Emphasize the importance of authentic self-presentation in networking and interviews.
Worksheet Completion
Distribute the Networking wheel worksheet (Appendix A) to each learner.
Instruct learners to fill out the worksheet, focusing on each section that contributes to their professional narrative.
Encourage them to reflect on their strengths, hobbies, learning goals, preferences, and proud achievements.
Pairs or Small Group Practice
Form pairs or small groups and instruct learners to share one section of their completed worksheet with their partner(s).
Encourage discussions within pairs or groups, allowing learners to practice speaking about themselves using the worksheet prompts.
Group Discussion and Feedback
Bring the group back together
Invite volunteers to share back one section of their worksheet with the group.
Encourage positive and constructive feedback from peers.
Debrief
Facilitate a debrief using the provided questions in the Debrief section.

Ensure enough printed or digital copies of the Networking Wheel Worksheets for all participants.
Technology Considerations
For in-person sessions, ensure participants have access to printed worksheets.
For virtual sessions, share the worksheet digitally and guide participants on its completion using online annotation or editing tools.
