Activity to raise awareness on selective perception and how it influences us
Ask everyone in the room to spend 60 seconds looking around the room for something red and make a mental note to themselves of each item.
Then ask them to close their eyes and ask who in the room can tell you what was yellow.
They won't be able to answer, and you tell them the point of the exercise is to show you that you only see what you look for and goal setting gives you that something to look for.
Debrief further learning from this exercise, connect learning to their reality
Potential pitfalls: People could become irritated that they were tricked.
