This is a simple way of defining a problem.

    Pre-Work Required: Create a clear statement of the problem.

    1. Use one or more of the following:

    a. State problem as a question.

    b. State problem as given,

    ---- i.then get statements of how others understand the problem.

    c. Clarify key words to tighten the problem description.

    d. Brainstorm problem descriptions under two columns: ?Is? and ?Is Not?.

    e. Use diagrams to describe problem.

    f. Break down into component parts.
